We're looking for new Trustees!

Would you like to play your part in global mission to unreached people groups and unreached places?
Would you like to be part of a dynamic and developing mission agency?
Pioneers International mobilises teams to glorify God among unreached people groups and places by initiating church planting movements in partnership with local churches.
Who are we?
Pioneers UK and Ireland mobilises cross-cultural mission workers from the UK and Ireland to the rest of the world, including the UK and Ireland. We currently have over 150 workers in some of the world’s most difficult areas. We also encourage the church in the UK and Ireland to pray for and support global mission. We are currently seeking new trustees to provide fresh insight as we fulfil our governance and strategic leadership responsibilities.
It is an exciting time for our Mission, as in 2024 we brought together Arab World Ministries (formerly North Africa Mission) and Pioneers UK (formerly Action Partners and, before that, Sudan United Mission) to form Pioneers UK and Ireland. We have a whole-world reach, with years of expertise focused on the Arab world and Africa.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for spiritually mature individuals with personal integrity and a proven interest in world mission. No previous trustee experience is necessary, as full orientation and training will be given. We would like people with a range of general skills, although experience in one or more of the following areas would be useful; accountancy, legal training, safeguarding, strategic planning and governance.
It is an occupational requirement for applicants to be practising Christians. Applicants need to be based in the UK or Ireland (and be willing to travel to the UK) and fully supportive of the Pioneers ethos and Statement of Faith. Trustees must comply with company and charity law.
What's the commitment?
What is the required commitment? Participation in three in-person board meetings held each year. These are usually in either Bawtry or Loughborough and held over a weekend from the Friday evening until Saturday afternoon. There are also at least three regular zoom meetings and extra meetings as required. There will be opportunities to join working groups and to become more involved in the life of the Mission, as time allows. Trustees will be expected to pray regularly for Pioneers workers and to commit to at least one training day per year.
There are many benefits to being a trustee! You will learn new skills and have the satisfaction of contributing to a movement prayerfully serving God in mission. You will work as part of a team of trustees, seek God together in prayer and devotions, have challenging discussions and enjoy eating together! You will meet people from different backgrounds and churches and will develop a more global outlook.
There is no financial remuneration for being a trustee, but all reasonable expenses can be covered.
The deadline for applications is the end of December 2025. Trustee interviews will be held in late January or early February 2026.
